How to Easily Measure Your Bra Size

Want to make sure you're wearing the correct bra size? Follow these three simple steps to measure yourself at home:

Step 1: Wear a Non-Padded Bra

Wear a well-fitting bra without padding or push-up. This allows your breasts to fall naturally. The bra should not press or squeeze, and your breasts should fit neatly into the cups — with no bulging above the edges or under the arms.

Step 2: Measure Your Underbust

Take a measuring tape and stand upright. Wrap the tape snugly (but comfortably) directly under your bust. This is your underbust measurement and forms the basis for your bra size.

Step 3: Measure Your Bust

Now measure the fullest part of your bust, usually across the nipple line. Make sure the tape stays level and is not too loose or too tight. Together with the underbust, this measurement will determine your cup size — see our helpful size chart below.

Bra Size Chart (EU / UK / FR)

Italian Design uses bra sizes from EU:70A to EU:85E and corresponding panty sizes from EU:38 to EU:42.

Tip:

If your underbust is 80 cm, choose band size 75.
If your underbust is 75 cm, choose band size 70.

The band should fit snugly but should not dig in. You should be able to fit two fingers between your body and the band.

Panty Sizes Combined with Bra Sizes (EU / UK / FR / IT)

Good to Know:

• Spanish panty sizes are usually two sizes larger than French, and three sizes larger than Dutch.

• Spanish bra band sizes are approximately 5 numbers higher than French and 20 numbers higher than Dutch.

Bikini Tops and Bottoms

For bikini tops, choose your bra size. For bottoms, choose your regular clothing size.
For example: 40B equals 75B.

Clothing Size + Cup = Swimsuit Size
Example: Size 38 and Cup C → Choose 38C

Men – Underwear

HANRO men's underwear tends to run slightly large. Measure your body and choose one size down if in doubt.

Note: Lise Charmel swimwear runs slightly small due to the typical French fit. Be sure to measure carefully and size up if unsure.
